Painting with Reusche Workshop

Instructor: Julia!

This is a hands-on class in traditional, kiln-fired stained glass painting. Learn the basics of glass painting, using the centuries-old techniques that have been used on church windows and artwork.

This class is for:

  • Someone new or fairly new to glass painting.

  • anyone who learned to paint a while back, and now you want a reliable method to revise the key techniques.

  • anyone! No experience necessary.

We will cover the basics of using permanent glass paints by Reusche to learn how to create a new painted art glass piece that can stand alone or be incorporated into future leaded/foiled work. This knowledge can be used by you in the future to add painted details to a stained glass panel or fused piece, or to recreate damaged pieces in a restoration project.

You will learn techniques of application, highlighting and shading; we’ll talk about brushes and different media, handling of painted glass and firing temperatures.

As a reminder for the future - if you do not have your own kiln, we do rent out space in our kilns. You can continue developing your painting skills and expanding your creative boundaries.
