Elements of Fusing Workshop

Instructors: some combination of Carol, Jackie, Kim, Pam, & Wendy

There is something mysterious and exciting about melting glass. This beginning class enables students to quickly learn and execute a variety of techniques.  Foundational fusing principals will be covered, giving vital information to help students grow in confidence for future projects. This will be hands on experience with each student creating multiple fused projects.  Students should have basic glass cutting skills and tools.

This workshop is a strong springboard for advanced fusing workshops that we occasionally offer. We really recommend you take this elementary class before taking any of the advanced fusing workshops.

If you recently bought (or are thinking of buying) a kiln, this workshop gives you an excellent set of core knowledge to continue creating from home.

Amongst the techniques & principles covered in the past:
- Bas Relief
- Fossil Vitra
- Tack vs Contour vs Full Fuse
- Slumping
- Understanding the steps of a firing schedule
